- You don't mind the random phone calls
- The smallest contact (simple email) from your soldier makes you feel like a million bucks
- The recruitment commercials on TV and in the Movie theater make you cry because you're so proud.
- "No news is good news" becomes your motto
- Planning care packages and putting them in the mail is very exciting.
- You can't stand girls who talk about missing their boyfriends who live 15 minutes or an hour away. You want to yell "drive and go see them" because if you had the chance you would jump on the first plane to go see your soldier no matter how far it is.
- You go from happy, to sad, to lonely, to angry, to proud and back to happy in matter of an hour.
- You wear his pajamas to bed
- You get up in the middle of the night to check your email
- You suddenly have an obsession with anything military related
- You see someone wearing an army, navy, usmc shirt and you get this overwhelming urge to talk to them.
- You make friends with strangers online just because they are in the same situation as you are and the only ones who truly understand what you are going through.
- You are already deciding on what to wear to the airport.
- You know all the time differences between where you are and Afghanistan.
- You talk to your friends and family so much that they know everything about him. His full name, birthday, favorite TV show and color etc..
- You sleep with your phone right next to you under the pillow.
- When you try to explain to civilians what your boyfriend does for a living they give a blank look because they don't understand a third of what you said.
- Finally.. You are oceans apart and you're always counting the time difference on your hands.

long distance relationships I have done for 7 years.. but the longest we went was probably a few months.... hang in there you will get a view of life and love many others have not and it will enrich your life forever changed
I've never dated a military man in my life. But then i met my biyfriend and we hit it off. Its hard to go to sleep without him and him being away for u is depressing. but i know wen he comes home from base every moment is worth the wait. I know that this relayionship is worth it, being with a military man is so worth it. they treat you better then ever.
